Candidate for President:
Hey HOSAKATS, my name is Maggie Kappel and I was your Historian this past year. However, this upcoming year, I cannot be more ecstatic about being your President. The rest of the 2016-2017 officer team and I have worked painstakingly hard in order to make Klein HOSA the best it can be. Nonetheless, next year, my goal is to work even more diligently with my fellow officers to make this organization an even more inclusive, fun, and welcoming environment for everyone.
To me, HOSA means family, and family means loving and helping those around you even when it gets tough, dramatic, or complicated, and we all know it does. Yet, somehow we are always able to persevere and make it through one more year; whether you’re a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior. There’s what, 408 of us? That is a pretty big family if you ask me. Perhaps you don’t agree, but maybe someday within the next year you will. Whether it be through the countless hours of community service, or the countless hours of studying for competition, or maybe the countless hours of flyer and banner making, I have enjoyed every second of my experience as an officer this year. A single picture is able to capture a moment, which in turn becomes a memory. Now, I’ve taken a lot of pictures this year, as for next year, I cannot wait to witness the incredible value in all the memories we will create together, and I hope you all feel the same. Thank you. |

As a fellow HOSA member and competitor, I am very fortunate to be able to give back to my community through volunteering events that this club hosts. Personally, volunteering is my favorite part of HOSA. Getting up in the morning, knowing that I’m about to change someone’s life for the better is one of the best feelings in the world. I remember specifically, my very first volunteering event, the Alzheimer’s walk, a woman came up to me and thanked me for helping her walk for her dad who had passed away. After she said that, I looked around me, and noticed all the people who were there to walk, whether it was because they had Alzheimer’s, someone they knew had it, or they were remembering someone they had lost to it. The same goes for every walk that I’ve been to since, I see people walking alongside their loved ones, with us volunteers there to cheer them on to the finish line. It would mean the world to me if I was given the opportunity to be a part of the group of extraordinary people who help make this all happen. I enjoy giving back to my community, but even more, I would love to give back to HOSA. Vote me your HOSA 2017-2018 Vice President!

Hello, my fellow HOSA members! My name is Elvi Casia and I had the privilege and honor of serving as your sergeant at arms this year. I intend to use the knowledge and experience I have attained to make next year even better as your vice president. Rather than working with spreadsheets and lettering points, I want to work with all of you and, together, the world around us. Community service is not only an important aspect our HOSA organization but also an endeavor that you should carry out for the rest of your life. I'm not saying that you have to save the world, but every little act of kindness goes a long way. The world deserves talented, hard-working people and I want to help more of you realize that you are those people. I am ready and willing to lead by example and volunteer my time and efforts to anybody that needs it, whether that person is an advisor, an officer, a member, or a stranger. More than anything, I want you to be able to gain from HOSA as much as you put in. I want you to develop a true passion for volunteering and a new initiative to lead. Because as great as filling up resumes and earning letterman jackets are, the most rewarding part of community service is the life lessons you learn along the way. I truly look forward to watching you grow as a person so that our HOSA organization can grow with us.

Hello HOSA friends! My name is Pranav Mehta and I’d love to be your Vice President for the 2017-2018 school year. We already know that HOSA has achieved a great amount of success this year, but I truly believe that there is potential for more! As your vice president, I can help carry HOSA to a new level of success not just in competition, but also in volunteering and the integration of health science learning within the club. Although HOSA is a great organization, I’m sure we can all agree that there are areas that need improvement, including: turnout to general meetings, awareness of upcoming events, and keeping the core idea of HOSA as a true “health science” club. As your vice president, I promise not only to refine these aspects of HOSA, but to also be receptive to new ideas and improvements that members may have for the club. I can’t wait to see what new heights Klein HOSA will reach in the upcoming school year. So please vote for me as your 2017-2018 vice president!

Candidates for Secretary:
Hey HOSA! My name is El-shymaa Mohamed, and I am running for HOSA secretary. As HOSA secretary, I would be expected to keep track of all of the forms that members turn in, keep track of t-shirt orders, and maintain an updated roster. This position is very demanding, and I am prepared to put in all the time and effort to become the best HOSA secretary that I can personally become. Being in HOSA for the past two years has taught me many things, including how to manage my time as efficiently as possible, which is required for this job. I will always have time for HOSA, as it is one of my top priorities. I am very detail oriented, which is a quality required from the secretary because the secretary has to do so much in short amounts of time, like keeping track of forms for over four hundred members. I’m really looking forward to having an amazing junior year, and being your HOSA secretary would make the 2017-2018 school year one hundred times better!

Hey HOSAKATS, my name’s Helena Vo and I’m running to be your 2017-2018 HOSA Secretary! Being in HOSA for the past two years has opened my eyes to all the amazing opportunities this club offers as well as the wide range of brilliant students in it! Through volunteering with HOSA and advancing to nationals in competition, I have met many of you, and wish to meet much more. I’d love to be a part of keeping HOSA the greatest organization at Klein High. I’ve seen all the hard work the officers have put into HOSA throughout the years and will carry on their legacy as your secretary. As this will be my final year in high school, I intend to bring my best to the table. Vote Helena for Secretary, you won’t regret it!

My name is Divya Nagarajan, and I am running for HOSA Secretary for the 2017-18 school year. This officer position involves total dedication and hours of time committed to HOSA, which I am confident I would be able to provide, given the opportunity. As Klein HOSA’s Secretary intern this past year, I have been exposed to the basics of what being a HOSA officer entails, and these previous experiences would help me to quickly understand my new responsibilities, allowing me to serve HOSA in the best way possible as its secretary. As a dedicated student, I work tirelessly towards success in any endeavor I commit myself to, HOSA being my front and foremost commitment. HOSA is an organization which I feel deeply connected to personally; the experiences I have had with this club have shaped my high school years, and if I became a HOSA officer, I would work with unwavering dedication to expand the organization and help other students feel the same impact that HOSA has had on my life.

Candidates for Treasurer:
Hey HOSA KATS, my name is Hamza Masood and I am running for your 2017-2018 HOSA treasurer. HOSA, which can be defined by different people in different ways, would have a specific definition for me. I define HOSA as the one of the most influential and important aspect of my life as if defines my present life as well as my future life. The opportunities that HOSA provides are endless, from learning how to work with a team to learning how to help others to becoming a more knowledgeable person about the world around us. Going into my senior year, I hope to continue this uptick trend of having the best HOSA in the US. This year I was able to continue my event from last year, Medical Math, and compete at State while also volunteering at different events. I know I have the ability to work with others, manage my time to perfection, as well as accommodate every HOSA member in our chapter. As the treasurer, I will value everybody's money like my own as well as help raise more funds for the club as my arsenal of ideas for the next year are endless. I appreciate everyone's time and I guarantee that I can help everybody from our advisors to our members have a wonderful time as a HOSA member next year. Vote Hamza Masood for treasurer.

I’d like to provide you all with a brief statement as a candidate for treasurer of Hosa. As the saying goes you don’t need another officer, you need a better officer and I would like to think that I could be just that. If made treasurer I plan of making year 2017-2018 pretty dope. I’ll lead Hosa with an open mind and proactive spirit to ensure all voices are considered while staying on the job. The job for treasurer is to raise money for Hosa and what better way than to give the people exactly what they want. I want to be an officer because I believe that a healthy society were people are happy, social, and connected is Hosa and I would love to be a leader of that. In the great words of Hilary Clinton “stronger together”, And I believe that’s precisely what I could make us.
Hey HOSA Kats! This year I will be running for the position of treasurer. It is the treasurer’s responsibility to manage HOSA’s budget and plan and organize fundraisers. I want to be a HOSA officer because in my opinion (and hopefully yours too), Klein HOSA is the best club the school has to offer. I want to be as involved as possible in HOSA, and I want all members to be involved just the same. I think HOSA members should vote for me because I will give HOSA my all to keep it as great as it always has been. Thanks!

Candidates for Membership:
Hey fellow HOSA KATS! My name is Maliha Ahmed and I am running for your 2017-2018 Membership Officer! I believe that I am the perfect candidate for this job! I was HOSA Reporter this year which gave me the leadership and social skills that are needed for this job and it provided me with a different outlook on the entire HOSA process! Membership means being the voice of all the students in HOSA and I know I can be that voice! I have been known for being easy to talk to and hold a conversation with for a long time! If you have any questions about HOSA or if you would just like to have a conversation about the weather outside, you know who to come to! This is Maliha Ahmed, signing off and telling you to vote me for Membership Officer on Thursday, May 4! Lots of hugs and love HOSA Kats!

To be the best club at Klein High School is a huge title to live up to. Therefore, this HOSA club needs officers that are capable to fulfill its expectations. Fortunately, being a previous officer I've experienced this first hand and I'm ready to do it again. HOSA needs a Majeed to succeed, so please vote Hibah for membership!!

CANDIDATES FOR SERGEANT AT ARMS:
I am running for Sergeant at Arms and would make a great Sergeant because I am organized, a hard worker, and dedicated. I would help make the officer team great beyond my duties. HOSA is my passion and I would give my energy and time to it as if it were my top priority among my other commitments. I will work hard to make the club fun and to give you guys awesome opportunities to do exactly what you had in mind when you joined the club – volunteering, competing, and lettering. As Sergeant at Arms, I will work tirelessly to serve you and make your experience with the club great!
My name is Grace Liu and I am currently running to be the 2017-2018 HOSA Sergeant at Arms. As Sergeant, my job is to ensure that everyone’s points are accurately recorded for future use in resumes and for lettering purposes. Through my position as an intern this year, I have become familiar with the various tasks of the Sergeant at Arms and how to carry out each task efficiently. I strongly believe that HOSA points complete a person’s experience of being a member. Not only do points help bring a member one step closer to lettering and make college applications shine, but they also give everyone a sense of achievement by showing what the HOSA organization consists of – active and hard-working members. Every member should be able to take pride in their accomplishments and the work that they do for their community, and every member deserves to have all of the points that they have earned accounted for. It is because of my deep understanding of the importance of everyone’s points that I am passionate in my job as an intern and, hopefully, as a future officer of HOSA. This organization has always been a community that has provided me with so many unforgettable memories. I trust that every member will give me the opportunity to give back to this community.

CANDIDATES FOR REPORTER :
Hello, My name is Hisham Ahmed and I am currently running for the Reporter position for HOSA . I want to be a HOSA officer out of the pure love I have for this amazing organization and the memories it has given me so far, I am currently a sophomore and over the course of the 2 years I’ve been in HOSA I have done a total of about 74 hours of community service. The community service has been my favorite part of HOSA and as the reporter, I am given the responsibilities to inform the members of this community about upcoming events and the opportunities members are given to get more involved in HOSA. I want everyone to realize the fun and joy they can experience as I did through our very own Klein HOSA. Not only will I be given the opportunity to inform others of the upcoming events one of the changes I wish to make to the website is a permanent recognition wall to honor anyone who has placed in the top 3 of their competition event on the international level. I want every HOSA member to realize that you are all capable of reaching that, anyone with enough hard work and perseverance is able to achieve what they wish. I want every HOSA member to come to HOSA with a goal and leave with an accomplishment and if I can contribute to that motivation by this memory wall then I think there is no better reward and sense of accomplishment.
It is given that having the privilege of being a HOSA officer requires great commitment and leadership. Not only am I driven to lead, but I am also driven to empower you. By running for reporter, I aspire to fulfill these responsibilities by communicating effectively to everyone through the website and newsletters. The challenges presented through given tasks would always excite me in ways that I strive to succeed. To many of you, Klein High School HOSA is a family in which I am willing to add on to this foundation as we rise by lifting each other. Allow me to achieve this by being your 2017-2018 HOSA reporter!
My name is Kaylee Delfgaauw and I am running for the officer position of Reporter. As the reporter, I will be constantly updating HOSA members on the website, through the monthly newsletters, and creating PowerPoint slides for meetings. Fulfilling these duties will be time consuming and challenging, but I believe I am able to efficiently carry out the duties required by being diligent and conscientious. As an officer, I will hear out other HOSA members opinions and welcome any new ideas in order to spread the word around Klein about HOSA happenings. I would like to be the Reporter because being apart of the Klein HOSA organization and having the ability to help members throughout the year would be very rewarding. Placing first at Area and State this year proves that I have the work ethic and determination required to carry out my duties as an officer.

As a cooperative person, I will be a helpful officer and assist the members and officers of HOSA. CANDIDATES FOR HISTORIAN:
I plan to run for the historian position for the 2017-2018 school year. I would like to be a HOSA officer because I want to become more involved in a club that has such great values of leadership, determination, positivity, and kindness. Becoming a HOSA officer takes much commitment and dedication, but I’m willing to put in the time and effort because of what HOSA has done for me. HOSA has inspired me to become a person who helps others without any reward except for the feeling of contentment I receive afterwards; HOSA has motivated me to go out of my comfort zone and take on the challenge of creating a medical innovation that has never been created before, and lastly, HOSA has encouraged me to want to dedicate my life to helping others whether it be me personally in the medical field, or assisting others to become better medical providers in the future. Becoming the historian officer is a way I can express my creativity through the memory walls in the hallway to encourage fellow classmates to either join HOSA, attend a HOSA party, or volunteer at a health walk. Being able to capture someone else’s memories so they can look back and cherish them forever is something I believe is worth doing. I am not just running for the title of historian officer, but for the opportunity to serve my fellow HOSA members and community. Just having the opportunity to run for a position in Klein High’s biggest student organization is mind blowing and whether or not I am elected, I am honored to be a part of one of the most tight-knit, loving, compassionate, spirited, and awesome student body groups ever!

I, Nadia Wooten, am running for historian. I would like to be a HOSA officer first of all because I thoroughly enjoy the club. I really loved going to the events and meeting new people who are interested in the same field as me. I really would love to be the historian position in particular because I love taking pictures and i want to capture the special moments that this club has to offer. HOSA members should vote for me because I am i have done other historian positions in the past and I am in a photography which shows I'm qualified for the photography portion. I am also committed to making members feel included and capture their moments so they can remember their great experiences in the best way possible. I feel I am fully able to make the time commitment needed to fulfill everything this position needs and to the best of my ability and am willing to learn new things to become even better for HOSA members.
CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENTARIAN:
I joined HOSA because I wanted to be something. Little did I know I was stepping into a community full of friends and many people who shared the same interests as me. This experience would not have been the same without our hardworking advisors and officers. They made each and every step of the HOSA journey easier, and made me really feel like I was at home. I aspire to do the same for each and every future HOSA member looking to join. As parliamentarian I would like to continue to have the greatest and largest club at Klein and keep growing till we break the record. I would do everything in my power to make everyone feel as though they are included just as the advisors and officers did this year. So vote me Areebah Dawood as your 2017-2018 parliamentarian
For those that don’t know me, my name is Patrick Kappel and I am running for your 2017-2018 Parliamentarian. This being my first year in HOSA, I was of course skeptical, as any freshmen would be, about joining a new club full of strangers. That all changed after I went to my first community service event, and all my concerns and fears vanished. Then, when I found out Klein HOSA would have interns this year, I jumped at the opportunity and shortly after, I became the Community Service Intern. As an intern I learned a lot about what it takes to be an officer and how to be a leader, however, most of all, I learned about myself as a person. After totaling up 38 volunteer hours, being the bouncer and flyer passer-outer at all the meetings, and being the go-to guy for anything the officers needed, I have only just begun my journey in HOSA. This is an experience I wouldn’t trade for the world, and as Parliamentarian, I hope to help everyone feel the same way I did as a member of the best club at Klein, HOSA. |
CANDIDATES FOR SOCIAL OFFICER:
The best way to assimilate new and old HOSA members into the new school year is by greeting them and helping them know that if they ever need help that an officer is here to support them, and that is what I encourage. It has always been easy for me to talk to other people, I love being able to meet new and interesting people, so I depend on myself to comfortably approach other members, a simple “Hello!” can spark an amazing conversation and even a friendship, so they won’t have to worry if they need a friend to talk to whether it would be at a meeting, convention, or social!
Positivity, Trustworthiness, and Commitment are just a few characteristics of mine that I would love to bring to be your future social chair officer. Positivity is one of my attributes that I will endorse to my peers in HOSA to understand the comfortability within the club and enjoy this great organization. I will be open and honest in order to encourage the same honesty as the rest of the members. My commitment to my fellow members and sponsor would be to complete any tasks I am deemed responsible for while continuing my school work. Being a part of NHS as well as Student Council, and HOSA for two years has taught me the discipline of balancing academics and HOSA competitions. Being able to stay before or after school in any means for the club because I am providing my own transportation. What's better than being in a club like HOSA? Promoting it to friends and family! Besides being in the club and, “doing my thing”, I also love to share what it's like to be a HOSA member. Wearing the shirt and telling those how great and amazing it is to be a part of such an inspiring organization with alike members aiming for success is something everyone should try to be a part of. Nonetheless, my pledge to HOSA is to make sure the timeline is poppin’ and the HOSA feed isn’t tiring. I would love to be your social chair officer next year. not only would it help me strengthen my leadership skills and teamwork compatibility, but also help me understand my peers’ strengths and weaknesses, so that we can all help, learn, and grow together! |
Being a social officer entails many things, that of which include being dedicated, hard-working, creative, and especially outgoing. These are just a few qualities that I have to go along with my persistent nature. I will not stop working to make Klein HOSA the best. Klein HOSA has made such a big impact on my life and influenced me to do great things and that is something I will do if you vote for me as Social Officer. I want your vote to make next year with Klein HOSA unforgettable.
I would like to become a HOSA social officer because I would like to show more initiative by volunteering in my community to help others who need assistance. I feel as though this would be a great opportunity to help others and show them the skills that I’ve learned in the past to make them feel better and make their lives more whole. My name is Emily Blanco and I’m the oldest and only girl out of 4 boys who I have helped my mom raise. I was part of a volleyball and soccer team, I use to play clarinet in band, assisted in YMCA, and now I’m currently coaching 5-6-year-old number 1 team at Klein Soccer Club. This has all taught me be in being a responsible, mature, outgoing person, and has also giving me the strength into achieving all these goals I have never giving up on. I’ve surpassed all these goals for one sole purpose, to serve an example to my little brothers. I’m applying for this position to prove myself and others that I can, yet accomplish another task by taking it head-on. What I do know, is that given the opportunity, I will give my best in order to not let anyone down, just like I haven’t let my brothers and soccer team down throughout my years. I will end this by saying that if given the chance, I would show my appreciation by doing the best I can, just like I have in numerous situation that was thrown at my life. I am so looking forward to be part of such an amazing team and am excited in helping it get even better.
