Q. Do I have to be in a Health Science class to be in HOSA?
A. No! We encourage anyone to become more involved within their community and experience more about the health science field!
Q. What is covered with the $70 fee?
A. This fee covers a national HOSA affiliation, a Klein HOSA membership, a Klein HOSA t-shirt, and all social events.
Q. How do I pay the HOSA registration fee?
A. Payment must be done online through School Cash Online.
Q. Are there separate registration and competition forms this year?
A. No, we have combined both forms into one. If you are not sure which event you would like to compete in, you may check the "undecided" box and still register. Please choose your competitive event by November 1st as this is a hard deadline.
Q. When are the meetings?
A. HOSA meetings are the FIRST THURSDAY of every month, unless stated otherwise. The meetings will be in person with one before school at 6:50 AM and one after school in the library/auditorium unless stated otherwise.
Q. How do I learn more about HOSA competition and the specifics of each event?
A. You may email our competition officers, Luqman Moton and Jason Zheng (Info. can be found in the "Officers & Advisors" tab) with specific competition questions or check on the Klein HOSA Schoology page under the Resources Tab for competition guides!
Q. Do I have to do Competition if I join HOSA?
A. Competition is lots of FUN and a great experience, but if your schedule is too busy, you don't have to.
Q. What is the deadline to choose my competitive event?
A. The deadline to selection and register for an event is November 1st!
Q. Where can I find a list of upcoming HOSA dates?
A. Events will be update throughout the year on the Schoology calendar and on the khshosa.com calendar.
Q. If my schedule conflicts with another organization, can I still compete with HOSA?
A. Klein HOSA has provided the dates of competition, from online testing to internationals, so you can see ahead of time if schedules conflict. All other HOSA events besides competition (meetings, parties, volunteering events) are completely optional, but we encourage you to participate in any events you are able to. We promise to do our best to help you work around schedule conflicts.
Q. How can I be added to the Schoology and Remind?
A. Klein HOSA uses Remind and Schoology to communicate with our members. To join the Remind please text @khshosakat to 81010. You will automatically be added to the Schoology group within one week of registration. If you still cannot access this group, you may email Parliamentarian Elizabell Vo (evo2000@students.kleinisd.net). Returning members should already be added to the Schoology group.
Q. How is volunteering going to work this year?
A. This year, Klein HOSA volunteering events will be back in person! Community Service events and any details will be posted on Schoology. On the day of the event, we will help guide you through everything so you can earn your hours!
Q. What forms do I need to sign in order to volunteer?
A. All members must sign the parent permission form AND the community service agreement to volunteer with Klein HOSA. You can find them on our website in the forms tab or on Schoology. Additional permission forms may need to be signed in the future depending on the event.
Q. How do I sign up for a Community Service event?
A. Events will be posted on Schoology, along with a either a Google Form/Sign Up Genius for you to fill out! (Instructions are posted on Schoology) *Volunteer Spots are first come first serve.
Q. How do I earn my Community Service hours?
A. There will be a Google Form provided at the end of the community service event in the Group Me (a group messaging app) for you to fill out. All you have to do is to show up at the event and be active!
Q. How can I be a HOSA officer?
A. Near the end of the school year, more information about the Officer Application will be sent out. The application will be found under the "Officers & Advisors" tab!
